The Refs in the Central Division are handing out more cards than a blackjack dealer. And the League is cashing in $$$$. Each team is charged $10 for a Yellow and $30 for a Red.

This works out to be $60 a game. So I don't think its the fact that the refs are terrible, I just think that they are working on commission?
By the end of the year the League will probably collect close to $8,000 just from the Central Region Central
Also, is it just me or are the refs are handing out twice as many cards when they are being assessed?

Also, is it just me or are the refs are handing out twice as many cards when they are being assessed? I agree that the refs are handing out ridiculous cards. Not to mention that some teams are losing some of their good players due to suspensions that should have never happened. If the refs would realize that this is not basketball and some contact is allowed, than the flow of the game would be more natural. Also, it seems as though every game a ref is being assessed and this causes them to get nervous. Enough is enough already

During pre-season we had a few exhibition games at various fields in Whitby and the ref we had then did a great job controlling the game. Since then we've had nothing but incompetence and have never been assigned the same guy. I agree that the league needs to employ better officiating to keep up the standard of our league.

I'm sorry I don't have a problem with the refs handing out a lot yellow cards. The problem is inconsistency. The world cup was filled with yellow cards and deservedly so. For example, according to the rules any foul (tackle) from behind should be an automatic yellow. Guys on our team have been hacked from behind and all we got was a free kick, meanwhile if you say anything to some refs they reach for a card as quick as they reach for their big mac.
Also, I've played many years in the east and when I look at that list I would agree that the top 4-5 teams in yellows on that list deserve them. I probably could have predicted that before the season even started.
